About Us

The story behind The Hug began when Lynda King visited a friend receiving treatment in the hospital. Her friend assured her that the medical care was great—but she still felt cold, exposed, and anxious in the standard hospital gown.

That moment sparked an idea. What her friend really needed was to feel warm, comforted, and secure—like a hug. From that simple need, The Hug was born. Today, it’s helping patients in hospitals and infusion centers feel more at ease, one comforting layer at a time.

Our Goals

Develop a thoughtfully designed garment that wraps the wearer in warmth and reassurance.
Whether they are...

• Recovering in a hospital bed

• Receiving treatment in an infusion center

• Nursing a newborn

• Giving slight compression to an autistic individual

 • Providing a beautiful gift for someone at home

 

To be an inspiration for others who see a need in society and the confidence to make that vision a reality.

Lynda King is a serial entrepreneur.  She has started and developed two other profitable companies and subsequently sold each.

 

The Hug, 2025 //​ King Size Bows, 1999 -  2014,

 Developed and marketed the popularity of bows on cars, buildings and grand openings. Sold to a private investor.​ // The King Collection, 1980 - 1991, A designer line of high fashion costume jewelry sold to retail stores throughout the nation.  Sold to a Home Shopping Network

She has also extensively consulted in business development and marketing for national real estate and tech companies.
